It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like ...

I need to come clean: last weekend, I started playing my Christmas records. (clutches pearls). Normally, I would wait until Thanksgiving, but since 2020 is 2020, I needed some comfort now. Christmas is my favorite time of year and the biggest subsection of my record collection is Christmas records. Even in a normal year I'm antsy to get those on the turntable.

Every year, there's always a new batch of records from artists all across the musical spectrum. While not all come out on vinyl, there's a few notable ones this year that did.

Carrie Underwood - My Gift [Red]: $22.98
Are you ready for some Christmas!!! New album from Carrie Underwood in red vinyl. Classic songs plus some new ones.
The Holiday OST [White] - $21.49
A favorite Christmas-time movie of mine. It's certainly a different mood than some of Hans Zimmer's other work (e.g. Dark Knight, Superman, etc.).

Tchaikovsky: The Nutcracker - $33.98
The Nutcracker is obviously a Christmas standard. Recorded in 2009 by the Berliner Philharmoniker, this recording first came out in 2010, but this is the first time on vinyl. 2 LP, 180g.

Meghan Trainor - A Very Trainor Christmas: $29.98
If you're a big Meghan Trainor fan, this is your year with her first Christmas album. 2 LP on translucent red and green 180g vinyl.

Bad Religion - Christmas Songs: $19.99
This is a repress of the 2019 release. It comes in a new clear with red smoke colored vinyl. Nice take on Christmas classics.

Goo Goo Dolls - It's Christmas All Over: $19.59
90's band seeks a new take with a Christmas album. For those looking for new Goo Goo Dolls content, this is your year!

There's plenty of releases from prior years to check out as well. I've featured a few below that will take some of the chill out of the air.

A Pentatonix Christmas Deluxe: $26.99
Pentatonix has a number of Christmas records, but this is their best selling, a compilation of some of the others. Gotta admit, these folks put on a good rendition of my favorite holiday songs.

A Charlie Brown Christmas: $23.99
There's plenty of versions of this record floating around out there. It's not the best price, but this one is in stock. Clearly, this is one of the must have Christmas records.

Mannheim Steamroller Christmas 35th Anniversary Limited Edition: $17.99
Honestly, I can't believe I don't own this record. Mannheim Steamroller Christmas? I mean...c'mon. Gotta have it.

Sarah McLachlan - Wonderland: $15.78
Soothing voice to spin when the weather gets cold and there's some snow on the ground. Maybe some candles.

The Beach Boys' Christmas Album: $22.54
Classic album with versions every few years. This one goes out to my fellow humans in a warmer climate for the holidays.
