Phil Collins Vinyl Reissues, New Album Covers up for Pre-Order
Phil Collins recently revealed the album art for two vinyl reissues, due out on November 6.
I think this is a terrific idea! So often with reissues, the focus is on duplicating the original artwork. In this case, Phil has chosen to go a completely different direction, exposing himself as he is today. He's currently 64 and he was 30 when Face Value was first released.
These first two releases are the direct result of a new deal between Collins and Warner Music Group. Billboard reported earlier this year that all eight of his studio efforts are due to be remastered and re-released in the coming months.
The albums will be repressed on 180 gram vinyl; Both Sides is a double LP. In addition, if you know you want both albums, you can save a couple bucks and get the Take A Look At Me Now Collector's Edition. Face Value, his 1981 debut is the obvious choice with "In the Air Tonight" a pop culture mainstay. Both Sides is the fifth by the English drummer contains the hit "Everyday".
