New Vinyl This Week: August 7, 2015
Mac Demarco - Another One
This comes in two flavors: the standard and the Special Edition which comes with a second 12" containing instrumentals of the songs and a slipmat. If you want to see a video filled with Mac in his underwear, cursing, and on the toilet, check out the "making of video":
La Luz - Weirdo Shrine
The female quartet from Seattle is back with an album inspired by the graphic novel Black Hole. It's got their signature sound but also tells a story, wrapped up in music that sounds like it belongs on in a classic beach movie. Pitchfork gave the new album a 7.1.

David Bowie - Heathen
It's got a tri-fold cover and it's pressed on 180 gram translucent blue vinyl. Heathen, Bowie's 22nd studio album, was first released in 2002. While this version is blue, there's a 2011 pressing version in black if that's your thing.
Zac Brown Band
I'll admit it: until recently, I haven't been interested in country. But with recent releases by Kacey Musgraves and Jason Isbell, the genre's got my attention.
While I'd heard of Zac Brown and knew him to be a talented musician, I didn't really know anything about him until I saw the Foo Fighters documentary Sonic Highways. Zac Brown performs on one of the tracks on that album (and it was recorded in his studio).
In any case, "Jekyll + Hyde" came out in April on CD and MP3, but the vinyl is just now dropping.
